On May 19th over twenty of our students have banded together to perform for the Multicultural fairs in Williams Elementary School and Simonds Elementary School. Some are current students to their respective elementaries and others are revisiting old grounds.
During the performance, our students were able to display a spectacular show for an audience of over a thousand people. As the performance started, everyone knew exactly what to do and where to be. Not a single hair was out of place. As a result, all our performers were able to give it their all until the very end.
The show as a whole gave everyone a story to tell. Things that went well, people they’ve met, and the experiences they’ve gained. These are things that help us grow into strong and unique individuals.
In the end, everyone was quite satisfied with the outcome of the performance. The students, the audience, the family members and us as well. We look forward to next year’s Multicultural Fair.
Dylan Q. 7 years old Yellow Black Belt I felt very good. I liked when my brother did Dahong Quan. I had shaved ice.
Evan S. 6 years old Yellow Black Belt I felt very, very, very good. I enjoyed performing nunchaku for everyone.
Ayush S. 7 years old Yellow Black Belt The performance was good. I liked the Kungfu Quan 2 form at the end part of our performance. I had some food after and went to a second Indian performance.
Tabitha G. 11 years old Green Black Belt I really enjoyed the performance, and I think the audience did too. My favorite part of the performance was Kungfu Quan 2 and the final pose. It connected with the audience most. I did a Spanish performance right after. I think we should work a little more on organization, but I think it’s normal since preparation plans changed
Drake Q. 11 years old Blue Black Belt I think we did really good. I there could have more content if it wasn’t for the time limit. My favorite part was the final pose everyone did following Kungfu Quan 2. I went around trying out food. My favorite booth was the Chinese food. It would have been better if there were more people who knew higher level forms performing.
Leader Dakota R. The multicultural performance was a great experience. It gave all of our students a chance to perform in front of a large crowd of their peers. We had only a few days of practice, but we managed to pull everything together in time, and give our best effort. I particularly enjoyed the triangle pose we did because it felt like a strong end to the performance and showed everyone together as one big team. I am so proud of all our performers and can’t wait to see what they do next.
