In the world of martial arts in China, the Shaolin Temple is hailed as the holy land of Kung Fu. The USA Shaolin Kung Fu Zen Academy, as an institution spreading Shaolin Kung Fu overseas, will hold the 15th generation black belt exam.
This year’s black belt test is featuring the largest group of participants throughout SKZ’s history. This generation is featuring a total of fourteen participants. The exam content includes martial arts etiquette, basic skills, routines, fighting, power, physical fitness, and other aspects which will examine the students' physical fitness, the degree of technical mastery, and fighting application abilities. Let's get to know a little more about the students participating in this exam.
Two members Gabriel and Isabelle Khouri have to travel three hours in order to rehearse for the test here at SKZ and travel three hours in order to get back home. Normally they take classes online, but for the sake of their black belt test, they decided to participate in person.
Our other members are all also very goal-oriented individuals working hard and persisting through our rigorous rehearsals in order to earn their next levels.
