We held a belt test for ten students from Enlighten Chinese School. Many of the students were nervous because it was their first times taking a belt test. After rehearsing, they were able to gain confidence in their movements.
Once the rehearsal was finished, we welcomed in family members to be seated as audience members. Parents of the students came to support them and were very pleased by their performance. The test was a fun and exciting time for our testers because this was an unfamiliar but rewarding experience for them. Once our testers began breaking boards, both the testers and audience became excited.
All ten of our testers were able to pass with excellent results. The grading system for Enlighten Chinese School is different from normal testing. Because Chinese School classes are only once a week, there is less time to go into depth on every topic. Instead of a score of 1-100, it is a system of Excellent, Good, or Needs Improvement. Our new level students are all excited to learn new things. We are also excited to teach them.
