Hello, my name is Sydney Youn. My topic is on the most positive changes Kung Fu has had on me and why it is such a pivotal part of my life.
Kung fu has been such an impactful part of my life for 11 years now. I have learned so many important values, which have all contributed to the person standing here in front of you today. I owe a lot of my personal growth to kung fu, and what it has taught me. Over my life I have faced many adversities. Kung Fu has taught me to face everything head on with strength and with confidence. Every practice I am pushed to try my best and give it 110% of what I have. I have learned that even when I think I gave something my all I still have more in me, and I just have to push myself.
This is a beneficial lesson because it is important to believe in yourself and push yourself in order to achieve everything to the best of your ability. Due to Kung Fu, I am able to say that I am constantly trying my hardest in every aspect of my life, and when I think I have nothing left to give, I know I can always find room for more improvement.
I am so thankful for all the many lessons Kung Fu has taught me, over my time as a student. I will forever be thankful for how big of a role Kung Fu has had on my life. I wouldn't be the person I am today without it; I am so grateful for all the years I have spent training here.
Thank you to my parents for putting me in Kung Fu and always encouraging me. Thank you to my brother who is testing with me today. Thank you to the judges and audience for taking time out of your day to be here. And finally thank you to Shifu for always pushing me to do my best, helping me when I am stuck, and for all the important lessons you have taught me. Thank you.
